JAMMU RESIDENCE
Jammu Residence
The 2 kanal residence in Jammu, is raised above the ground on concrete pilings. Designed for a family of two brothers, the plan is mirrored along the central axis with common public spaces for both families. Anchored around a central semicircular staircase, the design carries the grandeur of a hotel courtesy of the luxurious spaces, while retaining the essence and comfort of a home.
Spaces are designed to ensure maximum daylight penetration in all rooms. While coping with the fluctuating subtropical climatic indicators for a residence of this scale, considerations for passive solar techniques included clever use of layering wide verandas and open terraces.
Residing in the embrace of the open sky above, the pool is ideally designed on the terrace adjacent to the spa and gym area. The interplay of vibrant greenery and polished Italian marble marries urban aesthetics with eco-sensitivity.
The emptiness between the volumes and the slabs on the external facade improves lighting and ventilation throughout the day. Adorned with HPL panels and white ACP cladding, the facade possesses a dynamic form of architectural modernism.
